How did Voldemort get control of the Dementors?
In the books, dumbledore tells fudge to shore up his ties with the dementors because Voldemort will go to them first and give them free reign to suck souls. Fudge didn't believe dumbledore and wouldn't you know it, dementors switched to team Voldemort.
It is implied in the books that Voldemort used his dark powers to exert control over the Dementors and commanded them to do his bidding. This control likely prevented the Dementors from attacking him, as they were under his influence.
And the only reason the Dementors choose to follow Voldemort is because he frees them from their duty to Azkaban, allowing them access to the richer pickings on the mainland.
The Dementor is simply unable to perform the kiss on a wizard who has a Horcrux. Voldemort is unaffected and has a good laugh at the silly Dementor.
He also sent envoys to warn and persuade the giants, and other non-human magical beings away from Voldemort's side. Unfortunately, some of the giants, Dementors and werewolves had already allied with Voldemort.
He fears them more because he has to relive the memory of his parents' deaths each time he encounters them. We have nothing to fear but fear itself.
No. I don't even think they're 'alive' in the HP universe. Only a Patronus is effective: As a pure, protective magical concentration of happiness and hope (the recollection of a single talisman memory is essential in its creation) it is the only spell effective against Dementors.
Ekrizdis is a minor yet pivotal antagonist in the Harry Potter universe. He was an immensely evil wizard who lived in the 15th century in medieval Britain, it is believed he was either the creator of the Dementors or that his insane experiments and torture caused the Dementors to first manifest.
Harry Potter was particularly affected by the Dementors due to the murder of his parents, to which his teacher, Professor Lupin, assured him was "nothing to do with weakness", and that "the Dementors affect you worse than the others because there are horrors in your past that the others don't have."
Every time Harry is confronted with a Dementor, he hears the screams of his mother as she is murdered by Lord Voldemort. A horrific memory to hear... He hears this moment because Dementors feed upon happiness and cause depression and despair in anyone near them.
What if Voldemort was kissed by a dementor?
The Dementor is simply unable to perform the kiss on a wizard who has a Horcrux. Voldemort is unaffected and has a good laugh at the silly Dementor.
Following this, the new Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt, passed it into law that Dementors would be driven away from Azkaban, no longer trusted to serve guard due to their faltering allegiance when Voldemort returned.

Sirius was not completely unaffected by the dementors. He was able to keep himself from going mad like the other prisoners because he knew he was innocent. By keeping up that mantra and then being able to transform into a dog to escape, he was able to keep his sanity. However, Sirius was not in very good shape.
Albus Dumbledore was one who had long disapproved of the use of Dementors as guards, not only because of the inhumane treatment of the prisoners in their power, but because he foresaw the possible shift in loyalties of such Dark creatures.
After Voldemort's downfall on the fateful night of Halloween in 1981, many Death Eaters are captured, but Lucius avoids being imprisoned by claiming that he was under the Imperius Curse throughout the war. He manages to retain his position among the social elite, but still remains a power-hungry bigot.
Voldemort Never Figured Out Snape Was A Spy
He openly despised some of his Death Eaters, even the loyal ones like Luscious Malfoy. However, there were a select few that had his trust, and whom he treated with respect. This included Bellatrix Lestrange and Severus Snape.
Dumbledore - Ariana Dumbledore
He fears the lifeless body of Ariana Dumbledore, his sister, with who he associates his biggest regrets.
To Be Confronted By A Dementor
The confrontation with a Dementor on the Hogwarts Express made Harry realize that this creature was his deepest fear in a corporeal form. The Dementors made his inner feelings of hurt and abandonment come to life, along with bringing back his worst memories.
In Harry Potter, Riddikulus is a spell used against Boggarts. For the magic to work, you have to think of something funny while casting it. If it works, it makes the boggart take the shape of whatever you were thinking of and because Boggarts feed on fear, they're defeated by laughter.
Firestorm. Firestorm was a spell that created a large ring of fire around the caster's wand. This spell is one of the last and most powerful spells that Albus Dumbledore cast using the elder wand before his death.
Why was Snape's Avada Kedavra blue?
In order to conjure the avada kedavra curse, you have to want to kill your victim. We all know that Voldemort could easily kill a child without an ounce of remorse... but not Snape. Snape didn't want to kill Dumbledore, and this was why the spell was blue instead of the usual green.
Behind the scenes. It is possible that chocolate is used to ward off the effects following meeting a Dementor as it has chemicals inside it that stimulate the release of endorphins, which are chemicals produced by the body to combat stress and pain; often leading to feeling of increased happiness.
Herpo was an Ancient Greek Dark wizard, infamous for being a pioneer in the field of the Dark Arts. He was the first known wizard to create the Basilisk and the first known to create a Horcrux.
Many have theorized that Dementors were a symbol for depression, and Rowling confirmed this. "That is exactly what they are," she said in a 2000 interview. "It was entirely conscious.
A theory posted on Reddit suggests Dementors were drawn to Harry because they could sense the piece of Voldemort's soul living in him. Harry is an “accidental horcrux”, created when the killing curse casted by Voldemort backfired, fragmented his soul, and sent a piece of it to Harry's body.
Without thinking, Harry casts a Patronus in their direction, and he catches the Snitch easily, winning the game. Only afterwards does he discover that the Dementors were, in fact, several Slytherins, including Malfoy, dressed in cloaks with the intention of unseating Harry.
Reproduction. Dementors breed by surrounding themselves with large amounts of a special fog which they exude. New individuals, already fully formed, will gradually congregate from the mist.
'Is Draco alive? Is he in the castle? ' The whisper was barely audible; her lips were an inch from his ear, her head bent so low that her long hair shielded his face from the onlookers.
It states that they hear it inside their heads (as opposed to “outside”, aka by their ears), so a Sonorous is out. I think it is an extension of a form of Legimancy, which causes his voice to go directly into their minds. Perhaps, and probably, using dark magic.
Hermione finds Harry crying in the woods. Harry is upset that Sirius, his parents' friend, betrayed them.
What comes out of Sirius Black's mouth?
A Dementor attempting a kiss on Sirius is witnessed in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, in which his soul is being sucked out his mouth in the form of a small, glowing, white dot, but the Dementors are fought off by Harry's Patronus before they can finish this.
The Dementor's Kiss has only been used as punishment in rare cases. Sirius Black was supposed to receive the Dementor's Kiss in 1994 after his escape from Azkaban, but he narrowly escaped from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry before the punishment could be administered.
Dumbledore got permission for Hermione to use the time turned because it was not important. Time is fickle and dangerous to change. One small mistake that actually changes events I'm could snowball into something far worse. There is also the possibility to cause a paradox and implode the universe.
Professor Lupin explains that Harry has more dark moments in his past than most people, so there is more pain for the dementors to drudge up.
Remus was turned by Fenrir Greyback, who sought revenge on his father for his unkind words about the werewolf community. The attack took place just before his fifth birthday, and although Lyall burst in and saved his son from death, the attack left Remus as a werewolf himself.
It also explains why the Dementors can look so human-like in general build -- as some of them may have even been once human. The possible origins of Dementors are still mysterious, but this theory finds a way to explain how they can spread so easily while also making them far more terrifying to consider.
The stag is first seen in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban when it saves Harry and Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) from the dementors at the lake. Originally, Harry believes it to be from his father, who somehow survived, but it turns out to be from Harry, who traveled back in time with the time turner.
He wanted to avenge the death of 'You-Know-Who' - evil Lord Voldemort - whom Harry had killed to avenge the death of his parents (see earlier Harry Potter books). Harry also learnt that Black had been his father's best friend - until he betrayed him to Voldemort.
Albus Dumbledore indirectly stated that the Marauders never revealed to anyone, the Order of the Phoenix included, that three of them became Animagi until mid-1994, when Sirius Black told the entire story to him.
Lupin explains that Harry is more deeply affected because Dementors work by extracting good memories, leaving nothing but the bad recollections, and Harry has a much grimmer history than anyone else.
Why do Dementors listen to Voldemort?
The Dementors feed off of despair. Voldemort's army spreads it, allowing the dementors to breed. The Dementors take care of the Death Eaters enemies, taking their souls, and demoralizing the rest of the population. It's mutually beneficial to both of them.
IT WASN'T ORIGINALLY A PRISON
Well, that's because originally, Azkaban was a fortress built by the sorcerer Ekrizdis, who himself was a powerful and insane practitioner of the Dark Arts. Ekrizdis actually lured, tortured, and killed Muggle sailors there up until he died and the concealment charms faded.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.
There were a few members of the Death Eaters that Voldemort valued above others. Of course, Bellatrix and Snape were easily his favorites, but the Carrow siblings were up there as well. There are many instances that prove that Voldemort appreciated Amycus and Alecto Carrow.
Harry describes Umbridge to Sirius Black, saying that she's vile enough to be a Death Eater, despite not being one. Umbridge is also depicted to be a prejudiced person, despising half-breeds and Muggle-born witches and wizards to the point of firing Hagrid due to his half-giant birth status.
Bellatrix Lestrange (née Black) is the first female Death Eater introduced in the books. Aunt of Draco Malfoy and Nymphadora Tonks. She was introduced in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She is the most faithful member of Voldemort's inner circle.
Snape's fierce devotion to and love of his childhood friend Lily, Harry's mother, is the foundation of that loyalty. After Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Snape's loyalty was a matter of intense debate among the fans.
Usually that's a wand, which is why it's often seen in duels, and Harry definitely took that to heart, given how much he used it in combat. Harry became so enamoured with the spell that he eventually used it to finish off Lord Voldemort.
The Dementor is simply unable to perform the kiss on a wizard who has a Horcrux. Voldemort is unaffected and has a good laugh at the silly Dementor.
How are Dementors controlled? The short answer is they're not controlled. That's the problem with them. They live in Azkaban and served a purpose doing what they would do anyway so they were just given relatively free reign over the prison.
Why does chocolate help against Dementors?
Behind the scenes. It is possible that chocolate is used to ward off the effects following meeting a Dementor as it has chemicals inside it that stimulate the release of endorphins, which are chemicals produced by the body to combat stress and pain; often leading to feeling of increased happiness.
The person him/herself turns into a dementor gradually after having no happy thoughts for a long period of time. By sacking out others happiness it acts as a replacemet for what they lacked.
However, what made him different this time was that Harry's blood meant he was no longer protected from Voldemort's touch. Proving this, he touched Harry's scar, causing him to scream out in pain.

Although Muggles could not see Dementors, they were affected in a way similar to wizards and witches, becoming depressed when near them.
Until the climax of Prisoner of Azkaban, Lupin believed Sirius Black was guilty of murdering 12 Muggles, betraying Lily and James Potter, and killing Peter Pettigrew. He eventually discovered the truth — that Sirius was innocent, and the very much alive Peter was the traitor.
Chocolate as a remedy
J.K. Rowling told us, 'the mood-enhancing properties of chocolate are well known in both the Muggle and wizard worlds. Chocolate is the perfect antidote for anyone who has been overcome in the presence of Dementors, which suck hope and happiness out of their surroundings.
Remus was turned by Fenrir Greyback, who sought revenge on his father for his unkind words about the werewolf community. The attack took place just before his fifth birthday, and although Lyall burst in and saved his son from death, the attack left Remus as a werewolf himself.
Can a Dementor be killed?
Dementors aren't technically alive, like Boggarts or Poltergeists. JKR said, "You cannot destroy Dementors, though you can limit their numbers if you eradicate the conditions in which they multiply, ie, despair and degradation."
Voldemort Killed Grindelwald
Between Voldemort and Grindelwald, Voldemort technically came out on top in this particular area. Perhaps one of the most significant ways Voldemort triumphed over Grindelwald is that he was the one who killed the other dark wizard in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
