Why did Harry hear his mother scream?
It's revealed later that Harry heard his mother screaming, as he was reliving his worst memory: the moment his mother died at Voldemort's hand. Warner Bros.
Lily Potter
Harry's mother who sacrificed herself to save Harry from Voldemort; Harry can hear her screams when Dementors are near.
It was his Mother; the last he heard of her before she was murdered by Lord Voldemort. He hears the scream when he is attacked by the dementors, creatures who bring out people's worst memories.
5, pg. 67, British version), Harry fainted because he had a traumatic experience in his life, with the effect that he has a sort of weakness for Dementors. Not only Harry was badly influenced by the sad feelings, the others felt weak too, but one person "... looked nearly as bad as Harry felt", which was Ginny.
Lupin explains that Harry is more deeply affected because Dementors work by extracting good memories, leaving nothing but the bad recollections, and Harry has a much grimmer history than anyone else.
She made a promise to Dumbledore
As Lily's last remaining blood relative, if Petunia were to take Harry in it would seal the enchantment and provide him with protection from Voldemort. This would last as long as he could call the place where his mother's blood existed his home.
It states that they hear it inside their heads (as opposed to “outside”, aka by their ears), so a Sonorous is out. I think it is an extension of a form of Legimancy, which causes his voice to go directly into their minds. Perhaps, and probably, using dark magic.
Why did they mute Harry's scream? They muted Harry's scream when Sirius died because it was so heartbreaking that Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix) and Emma Watson (Hermione) cried. It was too sad to watch, so they muted the scream. In Order of the Phoenix, Harry yells at most people but not at Sirius.
When Sirius dies (Order of the Phoenix), Daniel Radcliffe, as Harry, screams, but in the movie it's muted. Dan's grandmother had died that same day, so the scream was as real as could be, so real that it made Emma Watson (Hermoine Granger) and Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) cry.
The creature stands and introduces himself as Dobby the house-elf, and Harry invites him to sit back down on the bed. Dobby bursts into noisy tears at being treated like an equal by a wizard, and this noise causes the dinner party voices downstairs to falter slightly.
Why wasn t Sirius affected by Dementors?
Harry's godfather Sirius Black endured 12 years in solitary confinement in Azkaban for a crime he did not commit. By focusing on his innocence he was able to survive and escape the merciless Dementors, and would later narrowly avoid the Dementors' Kiss with help from his godson.
The Dementor is simply unable to perform the kiss on a wizard who has a Horcrux. Voldemort is unaffected and has a good laugh at the silly Dementor.

The Dementors feed off of despair. Voldemort's army spreads it, allowing the dementors to breed. The Dementors take care of the Death Eaters enemies, taking their souls, and demoralizing the rest of the population. It's mutually beneficial to both of them.
Ekrizdis is a minor yet pivotal antagonist in the Harry Potter universe. He was an immensely evil wizard who lived in the 15th century in medieval Britain, it is believed he was either the creator of the Dementors or that his insane experiments and torture caused the Dementors to first manifest.
A theory posted on Reddit suggests Dementors were drawn to Harry because they could sense the piece of Voldemort's soul living in him. Harry is an “accidental horcrux”, created when the killing curse casted by Voldemort backfired, fragmented his soul, and sent a piece of it to Harry's body.
He teaches Harry to recognise the Dementors for what they are - greedy, soulless, evil creatures - while also giving him the confidence and knowledge to fight back, by harnessing his happiest memories, another piece of advice I'll be following from now on.
No doubt Petunia would have been saddened by the news of Lily's death but those complicated emotions – grief, regret and unresolved jealousy – were probably buried in the distractions of housework, gossip and pandering to her son Dudley's every whim.
The fan asked the author if Aunt Petunia was a Squib (a non-magical person who is born to at least one magical parent) and Rowling replied: "Good question. No, she is not, she is not a Squib. She is a Muggle.
Aunt Petunia, although certainly not a full-fledged witch, possessed magical abilities. She was desperate to be accepted into Hogwarts alongside her sister because she knew there was some level of magic in her. She was able to write to Dumbledore so easily because of this self-assurance.
Voldemort can not comprehend love, and so it destroys him to touch Harry because Lily's love for her son runs through Harry's veins and body. ems Harry burnt Quirrell's face when he touched it.
What is the one thing that Voldemort Cannot understand?
Dumbledore also says the following about love:
“Your mother died to save you. If there is one thing Voldemort cannot understand, it is love.”
Hagrid knows Voldemort's name, identity and past.
Voldemort's past, as revealed by the books, is shrouded in mystery and guesswork. In fact, at the beginning of the series, barely anyone but Dumbledore and Hagrid knew that Voldemort was the charming, successful Tom Marvolo Riddle.
Sirius Black
"Come on, you can do better than that!" Black loses his battle with Bellatrix and just like that, another member of Harry's makeshift family has died.
Sirius states that unlike most other Azkaban prisoners (who often became insane during their terms of imprisonment), he was able to keep his sanity because he knew he was innocent, and also used his Animagus form to ward off the Dementors, who are unable to perceive unsophisticated canine minds.
Sirius' death is a huge loss for Harry, and as we will see in the early part of the next book, he reacts by isolating himself. As he recovers from this blow, Harry realizes that Voldemort used his godfather to get to him, and he fears his friends will always be in mortal danger as long as Voldemort lives.
Therefore, if Harry had gone to live with Sirius while he was still underage, he would not be safe from Voldemort. The miserable years he spent with the Dursleys would have been for nothing and he would be without the protective shield of his mother's blood.
At the height of the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, most of the fighting was set in the Death Chamber; and Bellatrix Lestrange hit her cousin Sirius Black squarely on the chest with a curse, throwing him off balance and sending him through the Veil and to his death.
In “Harry Potter”, is it possible that Sirius Black is still alive because he was hit by Stupefy, not Avada Kedavra? No, Sirius was hit with an unknown curse that made him stumble backwards right into the Veil.
His undying loyalty to his friends only made it that much harder to cope when he was murdered in cold blood. While Dobby's death was arguably the saddest moment in the entire franchise, it's not as if Harry Potter's author just threw his death in there to keep the audience emotionally distraught.
In reality, Dobby's Grave is located on Freshwater West beach in Pembrokeshire. Why didn't Harry use magic to bury Dobby? Dobby was a dear friend to Harry, so he wanted to provide him with a proper burial. Hence, he refused to use magic to bury him.
Who was the Patronus that saved Harry?
The stag is first seen in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban when it saves Harry and Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) from the dementors at the lake. Originally, Harry believes it to be from his father, who somehow survived, but it turns out to be from Harry, who traveled back in time with the time turner.
A Dementor attempting a kiss on Sirius is witnessed in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, in which his soul is being sucked out his mouth in the form of a small, glowing, white dot, but the Dementors are fought off by Harry's Patronus before they can finish this.
The Dementor's Kiss has only been used as punishment in rare cases. Sirius Black was supposed to receive the Dementor's Kiss in 1994 after his escape from Azkaban, but he narrowly escaped from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry before the punishment could be administered.
He fears them more because he has to relive the memory of his parents' deaths each time he encounters them. We have nothing to fear but fear itself.
Dumbledore got permission for Hermione to use the time turned because it was not important. Time is fickle and dangerous to change. One small mistake that actually changes events I'm could snowball into something far worse. There is also the possibility to cause a paradox and implode the universe.
In Harry Potter wiki, it is mentioned that no one could succeed in killing a dementor with the killing curse.
Behind the scenes. It is possible that chocolate is used to ward off the effects following meeting a Dementor as it has chemicals inside it that stimulate the release of endorphins, which are chemicals produced by the body to combat stress and pain; often leading to feeling of increased happiness.
Reproduction. Dementors breed by surrounding themselves with large amounts of a special fog which they exude. New individuals, already fully formed, will gradually congregate from the mist.
Without thinking, Harry casts a Patronus in their direction, and he catches the Snitch easily, winning the game. Only afterwards does he discover that the Dementors were, in fact, several Slytherins, including Malfoy, dressed in cloaks with the intention of unseating Harry.
Herpo was an Ancient Greek Dark wizard, infamous for being a pioneer in the field of the Dark Arts. He was the first known wizard to create the Basilisk and the first known to create a Horcrux.
Why were the Dementors evil?
Dementors are dark creatures that consume human happiness, creating an ambiance of coldness, darkness, misery and despair. Because of their power to drain happiness and hope from humans, they have been set the duty of being guards at Azkaban, where they prevent the prisoners from having the will or ability to escape.
IT WASN'T ORIGINALLY A PRISON
Well, that's because originally, Azkaban was a fortress built by the sorcerer Ekrizdis, who himself was a powerful and insane practitioner of the Dark Arts. Ekrizdis actually lured, tortured, and killed Muggle sailors there up until he died and the concealment charms faded.
We don't even know if Snape knew what a horcrux was. He understood Dumbledore when he explained that a part of Voldemort's soul broke off and attached itself to Harry, but that doesn't mean that he knows that dark wizards sometimes do something similar on purpose.
May 29, 1993: Harry Potter stabs a basilisk fang into Tom Riddle's diary inside the Chamber of Secrets—unknowingly destroying his first Horcrux.
Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem
Rowena Ravenclaw was the final founding member of Hogwarts and the Ravenclaw house. Harry realizes the diadem is a Horcrux by talking to Rowena's daughter Helena, who remains as a ghost at Hogwarts.
He finds Ron and Hermione and tell them about the map. Hermione wishes Harry would turn it in, concerned that Black might know about the secret entrances on it.
The confrontation with a Dementor on the Hogwarts Express made Harry realize that this creature was his deepest fear in a corporeal form. The Dementors made his inner feelings of hurt and abandonment come to life, along with bringing back his worst memories.
Therefore, until he comes back to life at the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry possesses not one soul, but one and one-eighth, rendering him all the more alluring to the dementors.
Every time Harry is confronted with a Dementor, he hears the screams of his mother as she is murdered by Lord Voldemort. A horrific memory to hear... He hears this moment because Dementors feed upon happiness and cause depression and despair in anyone near them.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011) - Sian Grace Phillips as Screaming Girl - IMDb.
What does the fat lady say in Harry Potter?
Harry Potter: "You're joking! Why did it have to change at midnight?" Fat Lady: "That's the way it is. If you're angry, go and take it up with the headmaster, he's the one who's tightened security."
Petunia never showed any love and affection at all towards Harry because he reminded her of Lily and the wizarding world. She treated him as a waste of space, giving him the cupboard under the stairs at first and making him do all the chores. She, along with Vernon, ignored most of Harry's birthdays.
The Order Of The Phoenix
The horrific emergence of Nagini from the body of Bathilda Bagshot is by no means the first or last scary snake moment in Harry Potter. While there are several to choose from, the attack on Arthur Weasley in The Order of the Phoenix is undoubtedly one of the most harrowing.
Lupin's transformation into a werewolf is particularly frightening. You see his backbone protrude and reshape as well as his feet and his face. He then goes on to attack Harry, Ron & Hermione but is intercepted by Sirius (as a dog). They erupt into a fight and Lupin nearly kills Sirius.
Consider J.K. Rowling. I find it interesting that Harry's worst fear, dementors and the dread they cause, is based on something she experienced in her life, the worst thing she could think of.
Bellatrix Lestange tortured Hermione because she thought that the sword from Godric Gryffindor was stolen from her vault and she wanted to know how that was possible. She used Crucio and also cut Hermione spelling the derogatory term for muggleborns into her arm.
Who is screaming when Harry passes out? It's revealed later that Harry heard his mother screaming, as he was reliving his worst memory: the moment his mother died at Voldemort's hand. Warner Bros.
Deathly HallowsEdit
Professor Burbage affronts Voldemort and his Death Eaters by teaching that Muggles are not so different from wizards, and by daring to publish "an impassioned defence of Mudbloods" in the Daily Prophet. As a result, she is kidnapped by Death Eaters and summarily executed by Voldemort.
A Professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Snape is hostile to Harry due to his resemblance to his father James Potter, who bullied Snape during their time together at Hogwarts. As the series progresses, Snape's character becomes more layered and enigmatic.
Sirius didn't exactly improve matters when he tried to sneak into the Gryffindor dormitory by slashing the Fat Lady's portrait. We later discovered that Sirius wasn't a bloodthirsty murderer at all, and simply wanted to get revenge on the real villain of the piece – the not-at-all-dead Peter Pettigrew.
What did Bellatrix call Harry?
Harry says the word "Voldemort" and Bellatrix calls harry a "Filthy Half-Blood!".
No doubt Petunia would have been saddened by the news of Lily's death but those complicated emotions – grief, regret and unresolved jealousy – were probably buried in the distractions of housework, gossip and pandering to her son Dudley's every whim.
"The first meeting between Lily, her boyfriend James Potter, and the engaged couple, went badly, and the relationship nosedived from there," Rowling revealed. Rowling adds that Vernon hated Harry because he saw father James in him, much in the same way that Snape does.
