Why was Voldemort killing the Potters?
Why did Voldemort kill
James and Lily were in the original Order of the Phoenix and therefore knew they were risking their lives in the war against Voldemort. Still, the Dark Lord's whole reason for trying to kill them all was to eliminate the threat posed by a certain prophecy.
V never hated the Potters (L & J P). He killed them because they got in his way, when he wanted to kill their son. V originally didn't hate a 14 month old baby. He just believed a prophecy and decided to eliminate what was prophesized to be the end of him.
Harry Potter became known as the Boy Who Lived. For the rest of his life, Voldemort was obsessed with regaining his power and destroying Harry Potter, the supposed chosen one who ended his reign by sheer luck. Voldemort at least believed that it was luck.
First, Voldemort wanted to rid the wizarding world of any non pure blood wizards. He considered “tainted” blood (muggle blood) to be weaker than magic blood. Second, Voldemort wanted the wizarding world to rule over all the muggles. Kill them, enslave them, and whatever else occurred to him.
However, the prophecy went on to say that Voldemort would mark the child as his equal, choosing the boy that he believed would be the most dangerous to him. Dumbledore believes Voldemort chose Harry because Harry was a half-blood, just like Voldemort.
Voldemort's soul splintered then, killing his physical body and splitting his soul into a new Horcrux. Since he had just murdered Harry's parents in cold blood and attempted to kill a defenseless infant, there was enough justification for the creation of a Horcrux.
Voldemort had opportunities to make different choices, yet his snake-like eyes were fixed on one goal: a world where magic is might and pure-bloods reign supreme. It's a world that glories in cruelty, sees death as failure yet values life lightly, and denies love, kindness and tolerance.
1 Voldemort's Arrogance Was His Downfall
Perhaps Voldemort's biggest mistake was thinking he was invincible. He was extremely arrogant and believed himself to be superior to everyone around him.
Voldemort's obsession with blood purity signifies his aim to rid the wizarding world of Muggle (non-magical) heritage and to conquer both worlds, Muggle and wizarding, to achieve pure-blood dominance.
Why did Voldemort crumble when Harry touched him?
Voldemort can not comprehend love, and so it destroys him to touch Harry because Lily's love for her son runs through Harry's veins and body. ems Harry burnt Quirrell's face when he touched it.
Voldemort always feared death – as an 11-year-old he scorned his mother for succumbing and dismissed it as weakness – and his Horcrux journey was all about achieving immortality, keeping himself alive with no thought for anyone else or even his own soul.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.
They both came in Voldemort's way and hence got killed in order to protect Harry. It should be noted that even if the prophecy didn't exist he would have wanted them killed anyway since they were prominent members of the Order of the Phoenix. The prophecy only made it a priority and made him want to personally do it.
It could've been Neville or Harry but Voldemort thought the Potters were the stronger wizards and therefore feared their child to be the one to bring on his demise. And by trying to kill Harry he ultimately fulfilled the rest of the prophesy by "marking him as his equal".
When Snape heard the prophecy and pleaded with Voldemort to spare Lily's life, he may have inadvertently caused his downfall. While we know Voldemort killed Lily, he did give her a choice. If she stepped aside and allowed him to murder Harry, he would spare her. Lily refused and sacrificed herself to save her son.
In the end, both were essential to Voldemort's downfall, fulfilling the possibility that both Harry and Neville were, in fact, the Chosen One. While Harry delivered the final blow to destroy Voldemort, Neville destroyed the final Horcrux which allowed Harry to end Voldemort.
Neville became one of Harry's strongest allies, and there was a good chance that if Harry had truly died, Neville could have finished the job and destroyed Voldemort.
Voldemort wasn't aware of Harry being a pseudo-horcrux because he didn't plan it, and Harry didn't know either until Voldemort “killed” him, but he actually killed the piece of soul kept in him.
Harry proceeds to tell Delphi that she will always be an orphan and they return to the correct time, where Delphi would be taken to Azkaban. After Voldemort's death in 1998, Delphi became Salazar Slytherin's last known heir.
Why didn't Quirrell use Avada Kedavra?
Quirrell didn't use the Killing Curse on Harry, because Voldemort said “use the boy” to get the Sorcerer's stone from the Mirror of Erised.
The Horcruxes Left Him Vulnerable & Weak
A second or third chance at life, if you will. Although they did give Voldemort another chance to join the living after his curse against Harry Potter rebounded, they harmed him in the long run.
Warner Bros. Harry kills Voldemort during the Battle of Hogwarts, and the villain's last sounds are a scream of pain as he dies. In the book, his last line is "Avada Kedavra," which he casts at Harry before it rebounds and kills him instead.
Voldemort apparently believes nothing is worse than death; perhaps his greatest weakness is his inability to love. This is because his mother, Merope Gaunt, gave Tom Riddle Senior (Voldemort's father) a love potion. Because Voldemort was conceived under a love potion, he isn't able to feel or express love in his life.
Arguably more hated and more dangerous than Voldemort himself, there are many reasons why Dolores Umbridge is the most hated Harry Potter character. Dolores Umbridge was arguably the most evil character in the Harry Potter series, sometimes more so than Lord Voldemort, mainly Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix.
He was the most accomplished at Legilimency. No one could prevent Voldemort from looking inside their mind. Expect Snape. This shows Severus' abilities against the Dark Lord, making it clear that Severus was the more superior of the two.
Ultimately, his need to survive and protect his family would lead Lucius to betray Voldemort. With the Dark Lord defeated, he and his wife Narcissa turned in every Death Eater they could to avoid being imprisoned in Azkaban.
Harry Potter became a Horcrux when the love from his mother protected him from Lord Voldemort's curse. Instead of killing Harry the curse backfired and destroyed Voldemort's body and all his power. In the course of this battle, Voldemort accidentally gave part of his powers to baby Harry as well as a piece of his soul.
The initial trauma from his childhood led to the false identity he developed in his teenage years when he decided to rewrite his story and identity. He wanted to rid the world of those who had hurt him, and he'd almost succeeded before the prophecy of Harry's birth stopped and eventually destroyed him.
Bellatrix had a fanatic obsession with the Dark Lord although she was clearly fearful of his magical abilities and absolute power over his forces. She's almost as sadistic and homicidal as Lord Voldemort, with a psychotic personality.
Why did Voldemort kill Snape?
In The Deathly Hallows Part 2, Voldemort meets Snape at the Boathouse and tells him the Elder Wand doesn't seem to work properly for him. He concludes that, because Snape killed Dumbledore, the Elder Wand belongs to him. So, Voldemort had to kill Snape for the wand's allegiance to switch.
He eventually murdered his father and grandparents as revenge for abandoning him. The book also discusses Riddle's hatred of Muggles, his obsession with Horcruxes, and his desire to split his soul to achieve immortality.
Peter Pettigrew was revealed to be the one who betrayed the Potters to Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter, but why did he do it? James and Peter had been friends since their early days together at Hogwarts, along with Sirius Black and Remus Lupin.
While most fans agree that Harry is the unrefuted Chosen One, the final Deathly Hallows film (in particular) sways heavily toward highlighting a heroic Neville, revitalizing the debate regarding which boy is better suited for the iconic title. "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches ...
Dumbledore was also aware that he wouldn't be alive for long because he had been cursed by the Horcrux ring. Instead of suffering a painful death, he urged Snape to end his misery.
Voldemort intended Draco to die in the attempt to kill Dumbledore so that Lucius would be punished for his failure to retrieve the prophecy from the Ministry of Magic.
The main significance of his death was that it bolstered Voldemort's trust in Snape. Dumbledore's death helped Snape regain the Dark Lord's trust, thereby making it easier for Snape to devise a successful plan to finally kill Voldemort. Additionally, his death released the elder wand and preserved Draco Malfoy's soul.
Harry proceeds to tell Delphi that she will always be an orphan and they return to the correct time, where Delphi would be taken to Azkaban. After Voldemort's death in 1998, Delphi became Salazar Slytherin's last known heir.
With no one to claim him as their own, Tom lived in a Muggle-run orphanage where he felt abandoned and unloved. He slowly realized he was different from others and became obsessed with his powers, believing he was unique and elite. He rejected the approval of Muggle children, preferring his solitude.
When Snape heard the prophecy and pleaded with Voldemort to spare Lily's life, he may have inadvertently caused his downfall. While we know Voldemort killed Lily, he did give her a choice. If she stepped aside and allowed him to murder Harry, he would spare her.
What was Dumbledore's betrayal?
The betrayal here stems again from the idea of "For the Greater Good" – Dumbledore seems to have chosen Harry to die, since he had already been chosen to die once, in order to save the rest of the world… he just never informed Harry of this decision.
Bellatrix. You knew it was me. You didn't say anything.” This statement by Harry shows that he knew that Draco was holding back on telling Belletrix that he was Harry Potter when he was trapped in Malfoy Manor. Draco purposely withheld the information from her.
Horace Slughorn (1997 - present) Horace, after being convinced by Dumbledore and Harry Potter, returned to Hogwarts as the Potions master. After Severus killed Dumbledore and became headmaster of Hogwarts, it was decided that Horace was to become the Head of Slytherin House once again.
Harry is the Heir of Gryffindor (though his powers have been bound by his father when he was a baby), Neville is the Heir of Hufflepuff, Meghan (OFC, daughter of Sirius) is the Heir of Ravenclaw. Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, Remus/Tonks. Sixth year. After a rare magical illness Harry becomes outstandingly powerful.
